Diagnostic Testing

Urine Drug Screen

Urine drug screens are a simple way for a provider to test the concentrations of drugs and metabolites in the body. This allows providers to monitor the proper medication doses and compliance in the pain management patient population. It is a simple test where the patient provides a urine specimen during their visit. Urine can be tested for many medications and drugs. In pain management, the concern is with monitoring opioids such as codeine, morphine, methadone, etc. There is also close monitoring of other substances such as alcohol, street drugs such as heroin, weed, etc, and other medications such as anti-depressants, anti-convulsants, etc.
