Nameer
Haider, MD
The
Haider family has lived in the Central NY area since 1968. Dr. Nameer
Haider grew up in New Hartford, and graduated from New Hartford
High School class of 1984.
His
Father, Dr. Zafar Haider, was a physician, and the founder of Centrex
Clinical Laboratories. Dr. Zafar Haider and his wife Hadiga, donated
the Centrex Clinical Laboratories as a charitable gift, to Faxton
Hospital, during their lifetime. This was the inspiration that led
young Nameer, then a high school student, to pursue a career in
Medicine to help the local community.
Following
in the footsteps of his father, he went off to do his BSc. at the
University of Punjab, and completed his medical education with Honors
from King Edward Medical College. Dr. Nameer Haider, M.D. is a specialist
in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PHYSIATRIST and sub-specializes
in Pain Management.)
He
completed his internship training in Medicine and Surgery at East
Carolina University Medical Center, where he recently presented
Grand Rounds on Interventional Pain Management.
Dr.
Haider completed his specialization training in Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation at Albert Einstein College of Medicine LIJ-Northshore
University campus where he also served as Chief Resident. During
this time, he worked at many of the large hospitals in the metropolitan
NY area.
After
completing his residency, Dr. Haider received training in interventional
Pain Management techniques at various centers, including Stanford
University, and the University of Maryland.
He
returned to the Central NY area and began practicing Medicine in
1999. He has served as Medical Director of the Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation
unit at Rome Memorial hospital, and is currently the Medical Director
of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Outpatient services
at the Sitrin Medical Rehabilitation Center in New Hartford. He
has been integrally involved in the development of programs and
services at Sitrin, including the Fibromyalgia program, the Chronic
Pain program, and Lymphedema program. He also developed the Biofeedback
program, and has been integrally involved in forming the multidisciplinary
treatment team, including Physical therapy, Occupational therapy,
Psychotherapy, Speech Pathology, Rheumatology, and Neurology. He
is currently involved in a research project on Fibromyalgia and
Chronic pain with SUNY.
Dr.
Haider currently has clinical privileges and sees patients at St.
Elizabeths Hospital, St. Lukes Memorial Hospital, Faxton Hospital,
Little Falls Hospital, Oneida Hospital, and Rome Memorial Hospital.
As
medical director of Advanced Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
PLLC, Dr. Haider sees patients on an outpatient basis. Conditions
that Dr. Haider treats include musculoskeletal and sports medicine,
back/neck pain, spinal stenosis, arthritis, scoliosis, carpal tunnel
syndrome, spasticity, lymphedema, and RSD. He also has expertise
in work related injuries, and motor vehicle accidents. Dr. Haider
has testified as an expert witness in many court cases.
Dr.
Haider has training in the most advanced techniques in treating
pain, including minimally invasive spinal surgery and laser disc
surgery. Procedures done by Dr. Haider include injections for acute
and chronic pain, injections for spasticity, prolotherapy injections,
and trigger point injections. He also performs spinal and joint
injections including Disc Decompressor, IDET and Nucleoplasty which
are used to treat disc problems. Dr. Haider has made a significant
investment in the latest State of The Art Medical Equipment and
many of these procedures are done using live X-Ray (fluoroscopic)
guidance. Dr. Haider also performs EMGs and nerve conduction
studies to diagnose problems effecting nerves and muscles. All of
the procedures are done by Dr. Haider in his office suites, allowing
patients freedom from hospital stays and the ability to return home
after the procedure.
He

Mi-Hyon
Cho, MD
Advanced
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, PLLC is pleased to announce
that Mi-Hyon Cho, M.D., who is Board Certified in Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation and New York State Certified in Acupuncture,
has joined the practice.
Dr.
Mi-Hyon Cho was born n Seoul, South Korea and lived there until
she was 15 years old. She then immigrated to Scarsdale, New York
with her family. She graduated from Edgemont High School in Scarsdale,
New York in 1982. She then went on to Wellesley College where she
graduated from in 1986 with a B.A. in Mathematics.
Dr.
Cho attended medical school at SUNY Brooklyn and graduated in 1992
with an M.D. She then completed a one year internship in Internal
Medicine at the Westchester County Medical Center in 1993. Dr Cho
completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
at the prestigious Rusk institute of the New York University Medical
Center in 1996.
Dr.
Cho has served as Assistant Chief of Rehabilitation Services at
the Manhattan VA Hospital from 1996 2001. In 2001, she relocated
to Dover, Delaware with her husband and was employed by CN MRI as
an Attending Physiatrist.
She
and her husband then relocated to the Utica area in November of
2002. Since that time she has been employed by Advanced Physical
Medicine & Rehabilitation.
Dr.
Cho is currently focusing on out-patient rehabilitation, electrodiagnostic
testing, non-invasive pain management and acupuncture.
Dr.
Cho resides in Clinton, New York with her husband, Dr. Michael Cho,
who is a Neurosurgeon with the Slocum-Dickson Medical Group, and
her two children, William and Isabella. (Download

Denny
J. Battista, DO., FAAPMR., CIME.
Dr. Battista received his Bachelor of Science degree at St. Bonaventure
University and graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic
Medicine in 1994. He completed a one year fellowship in Osteopathic
Manipulative Medicine and then a one year rotation in Internal Medicine
at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. He completed a residency in the
specialty field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Nassau
County Medical Center in 1998.
In
July of 1998, Dr. Battista left his Long Island home and moved to
Central NY. He became Board Certified a year later in his specialty
and in July of 2000 became a Board Certified Independent Medical
Examiner.
After
working as an attending physician in the field of Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation for five years, he decided to join Doctors Haider,
Pekis and Cho in the group practice, Advanced Physical Medicine,
in July of 2003. Over that time Dr. Battista has taken on a special
interest in Comprehensive Pain Management. He is board eligible
in Pain Management and plans to sit for the exam this year. In addition,
he has been actively learning fluoroscopically guided interventional
pain procedures and is slowly attaining certification. His arrival
has provided us the security to remain the most complete and competent
pain management practice in the area.
In
addition to providing comprehensive pain management, Dr. Battista
provides comprehensive outpatient physical medicine, sports medicine,
spine medicine and occupational medicine. Other services include
EMG and Electrodiagnostic studies, Osteopathic Manipulation, Botox
intervention, and joint injections. Dr. Battista is currently the
Medical Director of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Carthage
Area Hospital in Carthage New York. He has been integrally involved
in the development of programs and services at the hospital, most
recently assisting with the hospitals CARF accreditation.
Lastly,
he resides with his wife, Jennifer, and their two-year old son,
Louis, and 10 month old daughter, Alexa, in New Hartford, NY. (Download

Debra
Dermady RN, MS, ANP
Debra Dermady is a Masters prepared Adult Nurse Practitioner who
graduated from SUNYIT Utica/Rome in 2001. She has been a registered
nurse for over 14 years, graduating from Mohawk Valley Community
College in 1989. She received her BS in nursing from SUNYIT in 1996.
She
was employed by Faxton - St. Lukes Health Care for 10 years working
in a variety of positions from a staff/charge nurse on a medical
surgical oncology unit to her final position as the charge nurse
on the acute rehab unit at Allen Calder.
After
graduation from SUNYIT with her MS in nursing she accepted a position
as an ANP at Planned Parenthood of Mohawk Valley. In 2002 she then
accepted a position with Dr Haider providing inpatient care in the
Acute Rehabilitation unit at Rome Memorial Hospital and outpatient
services for pain management at the Utica offices of APMR. Currently
she is providing out patient care to pain management clients at
our Utica and Clinton offices.
Debra
is currently a member of the New York Nurses Association (NYSNA),
Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and The
New York State Nurse Practitioners Association.
She
resides in Sauquoit with her two sons.
